Remodeling ...

Starting out with looking at some of the tubs/faucets I like.  Actually it was really easy (went to Ferguson's Showroom in Conroe) ... saw what I liked with a price I liked very quickly.

In the year 2016 ...

This once a year posting is kind of/sort of funny.  Really I love the template on this blog, just not that thrilled with blogger.  Plus I have so much else on my plate that I have a hard time fitting in blogging on here in addition to my journaling and keeping up with my planner.

But then I read what I've already written (in previous years ... hahaha) and I'm all in again.  I really would like to use this for my knitting.  it would be great to have one place to go back and look at what patterns worked and didn't work and why.

I've done really well this year with the 16sweatersin2016 on Rav.  Partly because I've done so many baby sweaters for BOJ.  Found a pattern I really love ... Kimes ... that makes up beautifully for baby sweaters.  Right now I'm working on a baby blanket using Caron cakes yarn.  It's done a square at time but you join the squares before you knit them which is fun.  It's kind of cool to see how it will end up looking.

My tendonitis has been a slight problem the last week or so ... I'm sure because I've had occasions of grains and sugars ... both highly inflammatory for me.  The Achilles tendonitis seems to be worse than the fasciitis.  (And BTW I can hardly believe that the fasciitis showed up again after all these many years (20 to be exact)).  Honestly WTH?

Have not started with the walking again in the morning ... I think I'm still getting acclimated (at least that's what I'm telling myself).  Funny thing is, I know once I start again I'll be all in with it; just need to get started.  And with biking and practicing the piano.  Again, not sure why I'm so resistant on doing them.  Weird.  At least with the strength training, I've got a trainer who expects me to show up on a specific day; means I can't procrastinate about it forever!

my poor abandoned blog ...

Can't believe I've left this blog go for so long.  I really wanted it to keep all my crafts in one place, but I've been so busy that I just haven't posted them.  I plan on getting them all on here ... they just won't be in the order of creation!

Starting with my latest.  We have a utility room that is quite large so it doubles as a toy room.  We have two tables with chairs in their; one small size and one regular size.  Also some built-in shelves to hold baskets of Legos and Fisher-Price toys.  Almost all the toys were originally my (now-adult) kids' toys.

I also wanted to get the books out, instead of stacked on shelves or in (open) boxes, so we put up these gutters to hold the books.

We have almost all the Dr. Seuss books, again starting back almost 40 years ago when first started buying books for our daughter.  I've always loved this quote.  I created the file using Dr. Seuss silhouettes I found on the web and the doctor soos font from dafont.com.

In town ...

Of course, we're talking small town with wildlife all around.

This is what I saw on my walk the other morning in the garden of the big house I walk by ...

These daisies look so pretty and smell so good every time I pass them ...

All alone ...

at least for a couple of days.  Last of the company left yesterday.  Next lot shows up in four days.  I need to clean out the refrigerator, scrub the kitchen floor, wash the sheets, make the beds, and clean the bathrooms.  Well, most of all I need to get motivated to do all that.

I have started with washing the first couple of lots of sheets and towels.  Have about four more loads to go ... plus four beds to make and four bathrooms to clean.  What fun ... not.

Haven't gotten much knitting done.  I did finish the back of the Austin Hoodie and started on one of the fronts.  If I'd get moving on it, I could finish it this week.

I did finish the baby quilt top and it is beautiful.  I'm thinking that instead of hand-quilting it I may get a fluffy back and just put the binding on.  I did find out that the son of a friend just had a baby girl ... maybe she's the intended recipient????

I may go into the big city this week ... it will give me a chance to go to Michael's, as well as visit my mom.  Will have to see how the week goes.

The computer seems to be working well AND my new internet provider is working well.  I changed providers so that I could get a static IP address without paying $20 more a month.  Now that I've got the static IP I can set up remote access for my iPhone and iPad.
